A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Creating a catch-all mailbox will be rather easy in case you’ve got a shared hosting with our company. You can activate this option through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the account itself. You will see all the email addresses that you have created enumerated in alphabetical order and on the right side of each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously show you if a specific mailbox gets all the email messages for a given domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you like. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you will get a warning note from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically and without your permission.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be enabled easily if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a small-size symbol handily located right next to each of them. With just one click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate the feature through the contextual menu that will pop up. If any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
